This event is organized on the occasion of the 15th Hill Climb Limanowa – Przełęcz pod Ostrą by Limanowa Auto Moto Club.

Members of the "BESKID" Radio Club will work on the amateur bands 80m2m using a special callsign SN0GSMP on July 26 to 28, 2024.
The condition for receiving a certificate for licensed radio amateurs is communication with the SN0GSMP station, while the SWL listening stations must send a log witch includes the communications made between the SN0GSMP station and other stations (detailed information can be found in the Rules).

We invite all amateur radio enthusiasts to actively participate in our special event.

About the Limanowa Hill Climb…

Hill Climb Limanowa is a great celebration of Polish and European motorsport. The competition, held on the 5493 meter route, will again feature the fastest drivers of the old continent (in mountain races there are no world championships), competing for points in the FIA ​​EHC Round – the FIA ​​European Hill Climb Championship. The international competition will be accompanied by two rounds of the Polish Hill-Climb Championship.
The European Hill-Climb Championship is the oldest racing series played since the 1930s. In the first edition of the championship, in 1930, Hans Stuck (DEU Austro-Daimler) won the racing car category, and the star was the fastest to drive among the production cars. circuit racing, Rudolf Carracciola (DEU, Mercedes Benz).
The race in Limanowa, held since 2009, was promoted to the elite group of events included in the FIA ​​EHC in 2014, and Miloš Beneš (CZE) was on the highest stage of the podium. In 2021, the route record was broken by the multiple European Champion Christian Merli (ITA), whose travel time: 1:49.841 and an average speed of up to 180 km/h are records that are still valid today.

The Limanowa route is an arena of duels of the fastest Europeans riding the so-called cars: Merli and Simone Faggioli (ITA), behind their backs are drivers of closed-body cars.

Every year, Malopolska competition, organized by Limanowa Auto Moto Club, are highly rated by the FIA World Automobile Federation. The race is among the top three best events in the following seasons.

Even 20 000 fans appear on the race route during race weekend. They can support drivers directly and check the results on-line on their mobile phones. For people who cannot be in Limanowa, live coverage on the Internet or national and regional television are prepared.

Award Rules

HILL CLIMB LIMANOWA

  • The purpose of this event is to promote Limanowa city and the surrounding area, in particular the two rounds of the Polish Hill Climb Championship and the round of the FIA European Hill Climb are held there.
  • The organizer of the event is the Limanowa Amateur Radio Club „BESKID” – SP9KRJ.
  • The event will take place between: from July 26, 2024 at 00:00 UTC until July 28, 2024 at 23:59 UTC.
  • Special event stations that will participate in this event are as follows: SN0GSMP.
  • The special event station mentioned in point 4 will work on amateur bands: 80m2m.
  • QSOs via repeaters will not count, thus will not be carried out.
  • Polish and foreign individual stations, amateur radio clubs, as well as SWL listening stations can participate in the diploma campaign.
    • Stations with the prefix listed below cannot apply for a diploma.
      • EU – EW (Belarus),
      • UA – UI (Russia),
      • beginning with R (Russia).
    • Members of the Radioclub „BESKID” may take part in the event only as operators of the special callsign mentioned in point 4.
  • In order to receive a diploma, a one QSO is needed with the special event station mentioned in point no. 4.
  • It is not required for individual and club radio stations to send logs of their QSOs. A log will be conducted by special event station mentioned in the above point no. 4.
  • The diploma will be available only in electronic form and no later than 48 hours after the communication.
  • SWL radio stations that would like to receive a diploma, will need to send their log to e-mail address mentioned in point no. 14.
    The log should include QSO of the special event station, mentioned in point 4, and other individual or club radio stations. At least three QSO is required.
  • QSOs will be carried out in UTC.
